Next, we take an impression to fabricate custom trays that fit your teeth snugly. A few days later, you return to our office to receive the custom trays, teeth whitening gel, and instructions.

All of this is supervised by one of our dental professionals. By wearing the trays for an hour each day, you should see striking results within a week. And, you can apply teeth whitening touch-ups for years to come, acting as your own “cosmetic dentist.”

A Caution About Store-Bought Teeth Whitening Products
While you might be tempted to buy a teeth whitening product off the shelf at a drugstore or grocery store, without the recommendation of a dentist, think twice about it. Generally, the teeth whitening products aren’t as safe or as effective. With store-bought teeth whitening kits, the trays aren’t custom-fit by a dentist, which means the teeth whitening solutions can end up irritating your gums and stomach. It’s also important to note that some of the teeth whitening toothpastes are so abrasive that they can cause increased teeth sensitivity and/or remove top layers of your tooth enamel.
